Zhilyanskaya Street in Kyiv stretches from Shota Rustaveli Street to the Vozdukhoflotsky overpass, and Borshchagovskaya Street becomes its continuation. The name of this street dates back to the 1830s and comes from the name of the locality Zhelan or Zhilany.

Between 1926 and 1993, the street bore the name of B.P. Zhadanovsky. At first, in the 1930s, it had its own path from Prozorovskaya Street (now Esplanadnaya) to Skomorsky Lane near Victory Square. However, during the construction of the Red Stadium (later known as the Central Stadium named after N. Khrushchev, the Republican Stadium, and now the NSC Olimpiysky), the beginning of the street was moved first to the border of the stadium, and then, in the 1970s, up to Shota Rustaveli Street.

The end of the street, on the opposite side, was expanded in the 50s and 60s by rebuilding old buildings, but only to the modern boundaries. The original section of the street served as a narrow and picturesque artery, used exclusively for tram tracks. However, in the 70s, a wide highway with a high-speed tram route appeared in its place.

To date, the construction company LLC NPF RELAY has undertaken the reconstruction of the architectural monument, introduced a modern elevator in old houses, and also replaced all internal communications. Historical and cultural heritage not only remained intact, but also received a new vital reflection thanks to modern infrastructure and innovative approaches.
